Kybella is a manufactured form of Deoxycholic acid, which is naturally produced in our bodies. Naturally producing Deoxycholic acid helps the body absorb fat cells. How does Kybella work?
Kybella is a synthetic medication that replicates the effects of a substance in your body that absorbs fat. Kybella destroys fat cells in the areas where it is injected, therefore decreasing the appearance of a double chin.
How many treatments will I need?
Our nurses will create a treatment plan based on your facial structure. At each treatment, you will be given multiple small injections under your chin. You may receive up to 6 treatment sessions, spaced at least 6-8 weeks apart. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 Kybella treatments.
When will I see results?
Seaside Skin Care offers complimentary consultations to determine if you are a candidate for Kybella. If so, our nurses will outline and explain the treatment plan specific to your facial structure.
Each patient is different, so the number of injections and total number of treatments will vary. Prior to treatment, most patients use a topical numbing cream to alleviate discomfort. When the area is sufficiently numbed, our nurses will remove the numbing cream and apply a grid to the area being treated. Multiple injections are required with Kybella. Total treatment time varies from patient to patient and can take anywhere from 20-45 minutes.
How long will my results last?
When injected into fat under the chin, Kybella® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. In short, your results will last forever!

What should I expect after my treatment?
It is normal to experience bruising, swelling and mild discomfort following a Kybella treatment. These issues should resolve within 72 hours. Exercise should be avoided during this time to reduce bruising and swelling. Regular daily activities can resume immediately after a Kybella treatment.
